What a week….

I wish that I had a different way to blog- I always have ideas and stuff I want to talk about..but actually sitting down at the computer and blogging in this house is an absolute nightmare. My entire house shares a computer-my computer. I did have it in my room, but the “family” one broke and I was nice enough to bring it downstairs so everyone has a computer to use. Worst. Mistake. Ever. My mom is on it from the time she wakes up until she goes to pick my brother up from school, and he is on it from the time he comes home until 11-12 o’clock at night. God forbid I come down here and ask to get on my own computer. Which is why most of the time I try to use my phone. I get eyes rolled at me, and have even been yelled at…because there’s no reason I should want to use my computer I paid for with my hard earned money, after months and months of saving..right? Even if I wanted to bring it upstairs again, they stopped paying for wireless so the computer has to be where it’s at to get internet access. Convenient..and also another reason I need out of this house. Things on the job hunt front haven’t been much better.. I’ve gotten two callbacks, but both were only for phone interviews before they sent my application off to the actual people I applied with. So, we’ll see.. I have fingers and toes crossed that something pulls through for me. I’m desperate..

ANYWAYS! I have been 21 for a week and a day…and it is nauseating. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this moment for yeeears, and I don’t want to see alcohol again for at least a good month. My actual birthday was Sunday (the 8th), and since the liquor stores are closed on Sundays, I figured I wouldn’t be getting too crazy…and I’m not going to go to a bar on a Sunday with all the drunks. So, I settled on dinner with my close girlfriends at my favorite restaurant-Chili’s. I did go to Toot’s (awesome restaurant…fried pickles, amazingness..look it up) with my sister earlier in the day and had 2 drinks but nothing too fancy.

We went to Chili’s around 7:00 and it was me and 7 of my good girlfriends. I ordered my margaritas and was good to go. We got our food and it was just a chill nice time, eating and enjoying our drinks. Then…my best friend shows up after her shift at a restaurant nearby…and that’s when the trouble starts. She started ordering me shot after shot after shot of Tequila and then I did some random shots that I couldn’t even tell you what they were…but I drank them like a champ. After Chili’s happy hour was over at around 10, we did hit up a little dive that was down the street and I had a Long Island Iced Tea. I thought I was at that “good” drunk point. I felt drunk as fuck-but I was good.

After that they took me home because I was complaining I was getting tired- I go home and I’m still fine…I sit on my porch and smoke a cigarette, then I go inside to put on pajamas and lay down in my bed. This is where it got bad- I think once I finally laid down my body realized how drunk it was..and I just started spinning. I was up until 8AM puking my brains out. Great 21st birthday! I’ve gone out pretty much every night this week for drinks one way or another. Whether it’s a dinner, actually going to a bar, or my sister had a party on Saturday…I’ve gotten wasted each and every time. My best friend made sure I got to do it all- buy my first bottle, rack up my first $100.00 bar tab, and get free drinks from cute boys (who were not cute…ick). Oh! I sang drunken karaoke too, but I’ve done that before. I hardly have any pictures because let’s face it- I was too trashed to remember to take them. Whatever! Here’s one-

I do need to add one thing- Saturday after my sister’s party.. my friend and I went to a couple bars..local, country types. The bathroom at one of these places…oh my god. There were no doors! The doors were shower curtains! I wanted to shoot myself because when I drink, I pee like crazy. I made her go with me every single time and stand in front of the curtain. It was ridiculous. Haha. They weren’t even colored ones, they were CLEAR ASS SHOWER CURTAINS. Uggh.. Haha.

All in all it’s been an amazing drunken week!! I’ve had a lot of fun and I’m so thankful to all my friends who sponsored this birthday week for my broke ass. It’s been such a blast. Give me about a week, and I’ll be a drunken mess again. I have yet to be 21 in downtown Nashville…that’s definitely happening soon!

SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily? Twice. Once in the morning and once at night.

-What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo) I would say for the most part I have combination skin. Sometimes it can be either dry or oily but most days it’s both..just in different places.

-What is your current facial wash? Murad Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser

-Do you exfoliate? Twice a week.

-What brand do you use? Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

-What moisturizer do you use? Murad Energizing Pomegranate Moisturizer

-Do you have freckles? Normally I have a couple on my face. Since it’s Summer and I’ve been out in the sun a lot I have a LOT.

-Do you use eye cream? I do not, but I’ve heard to start using it in your 20s, so maybe I should!

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin? I have a few mild breakouts every now and then, but I’ve never had full-blown acne covered skin.

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ? No.

MAKEUP

-What foundation do you use? I have 3 that I alternate between- MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid, Almay’s Clear Complexion, and Revlon’s Photo Ready.

-How about concealer? Normally MAC Studio Finish, but I’m trying ELF’s Tone Correcting Concealer right now and I’m LOVING it, it smells like fruit!

-Do you know your undertone color? Yellow.

-What do you think of fake eyelashes? I think they’re okay..there’s a time and a place and I don’t/wouldn’t use them every single day.

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months? I did know that, I normally change them in that time frame.

-What brand of mascara do you use? Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest black! Only way to go <33

-Sephora or MAC? Sephora definitely. MAC only sells MAC, Sephora has everything..not just makeup!

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card? I do not.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application? It depends on what I’m doing… my staple brushes are the 217 and 224 though, blending brushes!

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes? I do, Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and MAC’s Paint Pots are my favorite.

-For the face? Yes, Too-Faced, Smashbox, and MAC all make a good face primer.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)? Mulch from MAC, definitely. I use the heck out of that..I’m on my 3rd pot of it.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner? Gel! Fluidline.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil? I don’t use a pencil, I use a brush. I’ve gotten pretty good at not poking myself though.

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? I’m not really into them.. I don’t own many.

-Do you use mineral makeup? Nope.

-What is your favorite lipstick? I hate lipstick.. don’t own any.

-How about lipgloss? I love Amber Russe Lipgelee by MAC & Girl’s Delight and Steppin’ Out Dazzleglass.

-What is your favorite blush to use? Ripe Peach from MAC’s Blush Ombre collection.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay? No.

-Do you like drugstore makeup? Some, yeah.

-Do you go to CCO’s? (cosmetic company outlets) I haven’t! I’d love to go though.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes? I don’t feel that I need to, if there’s something I don’t know how to do I go to YouTube.

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup? No.

-Name a makeup crime that you hate? Can I name more than one? BLUE Eyeshadow, Using eyeliner on your entire lid for a “smokey” look, Bronzer/Blush in places it shouldn’t be & too much of it, Foundation lines, GLITTER (We are not in middle school anymore..shit’s not cute)

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones? I prefer neutrals, but I do rock colorful eyeshadows/eyeliners on rare occasion.. I won’t put on a colored lipstick or mascara or any of that though.

-Which celebrity always has great make up? Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Eva Longoria..I think they always look good.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item,what would you use? Mascara, definitely!

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on? For sure! I do it all the time.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on? Of course. I don’t wear makeup to cover up my face or to make myself prettier, it’s just something I enjoy. I actually prefer myself, and most people, without makeup.

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line? I love MAC, so I’m just going to say them. There are so many good brands out there though!

-What do you think of Makeup? I adore it, honestly. If I could do/play around with makeup for the rest of my life I would. It’s such a fun and creative outlet!

I never realized how hard it was to find a job until I actually need one. No, I haven’t been fired..No, I haven’t been demoted. The hours at the company that I work for have been cut…drastically. To the point that I’m only making enough to pay my phone bill and maybe buy myself a meal. And then for the two weeks until my next paycheck, I have no money. I’ve drained my savings on stupid things and paying bills so I don’t have that kind of a backup. So, I’ve been on a mad hunt for a job, any job. It doesn’t even have to be a manager position..I’ve been applying for associate at stores and whatnot. NO ONE has called back. I got 1 call back and I’ve applied everywhere in these past two weeks that I’ve been home. I’m just hoping and praying that something comes to me soon because that’s the only way that I can get out of here, and I’m going to be 21 in less than 10 days… I cannot live with my parents anymore. I cannot share a bathroom with my 13 year old brother any more. I just can’t.

I finally whipped out my digital camera yesterday and snapped a few pictures, mainly because I was trying to take a picture of my hair. The only one I took was a cell phone picture while I was still on vacation. So, here’s that-

It’s actually a lot lighter than I was going for, but I told my cousin (in these exact words) “Put a buttload of blonde in it”. That’s what she did! I’m so grateful because it’s definitely a good change. Looking back at older pictures compared to these, the dark hair REALLY washed me out and gave me a very..lackluster look. She also re-cut all my layers, they were in desperate need, got all that dead end off of there and gave me some more volume. I don’t know if I talked about it, but I switched birth controls and the one I’m on now is making me lose a lot of hair. My hair has been looking really flat and lifeless, so those short layers and some teasing are really going to help me. Eyeshadow in those pictures is ALL MAC (Romp on the lid, Mulch and Carbon in the crease and outer crease..and NC15 Studio Fix Powder as a highlight Haha)

WHO WATCHED JERSEY SHORE 2 LAST NIGHT?!?!?!?! I was in heaven. Glad to have my Guidos and Guidettes back, haha. If you watch it, what did you think? What was your favorite part? Will you keep watching? & Most importantly, Will you help me throw Angelina off of a bridge?

I loved the entire episode but I will say that I laughed the most when Snookie was getting ready to go pick up JWOWW in that big Escalade and had to move the seat sooooo close to the steering wheel. I died.

So..Like I mentioned way up there.. I’M TURNING TWENTY ONE!! My birthday is Sunday, the 8th. Why do I have to be the one to have a 21st birthday on the day all the liquor stores are closed, really?! I’m going to dinner that night with my friends (Probably Chili’s..you all know how I feel about my Chili’s) and I can drink there which will rock. Then that weekend on Saturday my friends are taking me to a few bars and then I’m going to my sister’s house for a party she’s throwing because she felt bad she was going to miss going out with me. So I’m bringing myself to her. I should be thoroughly drunk that entire weekend, it’s going to be sweet.

Day 21: A Recipe

Now, this isn’t MY recipe, but it is my absolute favorite dessert ever…especially around the holidays. (It’s Paula Deen, so you know it’s good)

Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake

Ingredients-

For the Cake:

-1 (18 1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix

-1 egg

-8 tablespoons butter, melted

For the Filling:

-1 (8-ounce) package cream, softened

-1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin

-3 eggs

-1 teaspoon vanilla

-8 tablespoons butter, melted

-1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar

-1 teaspoon cinnamon

-1 teaspoon nutmeg

Directions-

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine the cake mix, egg, and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Pat the mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13 by 9-inch baking pan.

To make the filling: In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla, and butter, and beat together. Next, add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix well. Spread pumpkin mixture over cake batter and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Make sure not to overbake as the center should be a little gooey.

Serve with fresh whipped cream.

So, I slacked a bit there, and I don’t really have an excuse as to why, but I’ll blame it on work and getting everything set to leave for California on Friday. I don’t like being put under pressure with these “challenges” and “projects”, so I’m going to cheat and use this post to catch myself up on my days. The last day I posted was June 24th and it was on Day 13, we’ll start with:

DAY 14- A Non-Fiction Book:
