So what? I’m still a rockstar!

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

Hey everyone! I have some awesome news. My Moms CA-125 (cancer count, tumor marker) is down to 37.. Normal level is 0-35 and she still has 3 treatments left, So everyone take a minute and breathe a deep sigh of relief with me. I knew we could do it, I knew that I could help her kick this cancers ass and we are doing it and we will not back down and we are in this together. She helped my Dad through his sicknesses through my whole life up until his last day and I knew God wouldn’t let this take her down, She is so strong and just amazing and if you ever read this Mom I love you and thank you. Thank you for taking care of my Dad all of those years despite no longer being married to him and thank you for being YOU, You’re the most caring woman I know and even though we had rough patches through my crazy teenage years you are now my best friend and I can’t imagine a day without your encouraging words, bright smile, and love. Thank you for being you. All of my friends and family have also been amazing through this all and I just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the encouraging words, the shoulders for me to cry on, the prayers, and the positive thoughts. THANK YOU as well guys. I’ve been kind of absent from my blog lately and that’s just because I’ve been crazy busy taking care of Mom she had chemo on the 11th and all of the errands and DR appointments that follow as well as the rough days she has been having from the shots I have to give her for 9 days after mean busy busy days but I just wanted to stop in and let you know that we are here and we are fighting the fight still and share our positive news with you. Also I wanted to say that September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month so I will be posting some information on Ovarian Cancer, the signs to look out for, and informational websites etc. so look out for that my ladies because Ovarian Cancer is a very tricky thing as there isn’t a particular test for it and the signs can go unnoticed so easily. I want to help spread the word and if you are interested in doing something in September on September 3rd you can wear the color teal in awareness, If you do that shoot me a picture so I can show my Mom :D Alright, I think I am going to head to bed now I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. I am currently looking for another tag to do so if you know of any let me know and if you don’t just keep an eye out for a post with one so that you guys can do it too! Talk to you soon.

40 beauty questions/Quick update!

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

Hello everybody! I have been completely MIA, Life things have been taking priority over my internet shenanigans what can I say haha First thing is my Mom is doing good..She just got back to her normal self after her 9 day post chemo shots, boy those things are a pain in the butt. I have some good news actually! When she was originally diagnosed and in the hospital before her tumor removal/full hysterectomy her CA-125 which is also called a tumor marker (cancer count is the easy term!) was nearly 1000, Normal levels are o-35. Then when she first went to her first oncologist appointment after surgery it was down to 141, The second chemo treatment it had went down to 101, and this chemo treatment it has gone down to *drum roll please* 47!!! FOURTY.SEVEN.GUYS. You can’t even understand how much I cried out of happiness when we got the news, She’s almost to a normal level and she still has 4 chemo treatments! We are fighting this tooth and nail what can I say. In other news I am hanging in there and just taking care of Mom and dealing with everyday life struggles, I have been toying with the idea of going to see a psychiatrist about my Dads death..I’m still grieving pretty bad and have break downs which is understandable I know because it has only been 5 months but I think that talking to someone that I am comfortable with who isn’t a family member may just help me a bit.. I go see my DR on the 27th and I am thinking about asking her for a referral to see someone that I have seen before (that time was regarding my surgery but she is such a nice woman and works with everyone/everything). How has everyone been enjoying their summer? California is a bit mixed up with its weather, One day it is 105F and two days later the high is 82F.. I just don’t get it. lol Anywho I better get going, Here is a beauty tag that I thought was neat that my friend Nancy over at spiffykerms.com did.. If you end up doing it leave me a link in the comments so I can check it out! Talk to you soon.

SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily?
Once! I wash my face every night.

-What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
Combination, Oily in some spots -not very many- and EXTREMELY dry in others.

What is your current facial wash?
L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub (review here!)

-Do you exfoliate?
Yes, I use L’Oreal Go 360 Clean Deep Exfoliating Scrub daily to keep dry flakes away!

-What brand do you use?
See last two questions answer :X haha I don’t have a need for a different exfoliater after that.

-What moisturizer do you use?
Ahhh, I’m bad. When I remember to moisturize I just use my all over lotion.. I really want to get Paradise Regained from Lush because I tried a sample of it and it is AMAZING but I don’t have the $50 to splurge on it! Soon I hope.

-Do you have freckles?
Yes. Tons.

-Do you use eye cream?
No….I wonder when one should start that? I just turned 22 and I don’t see any problem areas sooooo? haha

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
No. *knocks on wood*

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No!

MAKEUP

-What foundation do you use?
I don’t use liquid foundations, They make my face feel like 20 kinds of ICK. haha I use Covergirl powder though for some light coverage.

-How about concealer?
Any concealer. I’m a huge drugstore brand girl and I’ve tried tons, Right now I’m currently using one from ELF (eyeslipsface.com) and it works REALLY well for only being $1 ! Love ELF.

-Do you know your undertone color?
Nopeeee.. haha I’m guessing pink but I’m probably wrong.

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I think they’re awesome! I can’t get the knack of applying them and I feel some can be way too dramatic for everyday use but once I get the hang of them I’ll be a fake lash fool!

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months? |
Yes. Do I follow that “rule” though? Heck no. lol It takes me forever to use up mascara because I don’t wear makeup daily and I’m not about to toss a perfectly useable/good mascara!

-What brand of mascara do you use?
My holy grail one which is
Maybelline Volum’ Express Turbo Boost, Been using it for years! (review here)

-Sephora or MAC?
Sephora hands down. Have you seen that place?!?! The variettttttttty omg it’s a makeup wonderland and there are so many things there that you can’t get at MAC.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Nope.. They would sense my lack of pro-ness before I even thought of applying.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Drugstore brushes. Some Sonia Kashuk.. Some ELF.. Some Coastal Scents (not drugstore but still).

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Nope..

-For the face?
No! I feel like it would feel like a liquid foundation..Cakey. Not down with that. haha

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Everything in the Nude on Nude natural look kit by NYX (I don’t have a particular shade/brand)

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Both, I go through phases where favor one or the other.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Hardly ever, I started lining my waterline when I was 11.. I got this kid!

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I like it but I hatehatehate the fallout.

-Do you use mineral makeup?
I have before and I like it but I’m not a regular user of it.

-What is your favorite lipstick?
I don’t own much lipstick because I can’t find perfect shades for me buuut I really like NYX round lipstick in Aries.

-How about lipgloss?
Anything nude colored or light. I’m not a fan of pinks or crazy  colors.

-What is your favorite blush to use?
I don’t use blush.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
No.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?
LOVE.It.

-Do you go to CCO’s? (cosmetic company outlets)
I haven’t been to one but I would really like to!

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
No, I watch tutorials on Youtube though from a variety of gurus. If you’d like me to list who I prefer on there just ask! :D

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
No, not really. Sometimes I get mascara on my eyelids though. Nothing a wet q-tip can’t fix.

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Too much blush/bronzer. TONE IT DOWN CHICA.

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I prefer neutrals. I don’t feel I can pull of bright colors.

-Which celebrity always has great make up?
Kim Kardashian is always well done up, Sometimes she can go over the top but most of the time its nice.

-If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Mascara!

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
YES. I do a lot.. Don’t wear makeup much at all anymore.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Of course. Everyone should feel good about themselves without makeup.. It’s there for fun ladies it shouldn’t become some kind of crutch that you NEED.

-In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I don’t have a favorite and I can’t think of one as the BEST, There are just too many good lines out there.

-What do you think of Makeup?
It’s a fun thing to play with and get the hang of!

Well that was fun! Like I said, Let me know if you do this and leave a link in the comments below!!<3

Another giveaway!

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

A blog I follow is having a giveaway and I thought I’d share it with you guys! It’s going on over at design85.com and this is what the post reads:

Another giveaway? But of course! You can win a Good Earth gift pack that includes a Good Earth Mediterranean Chicken dry dinner kit, two sets of bamboo flatware, two bamboo dishes, a bamboo utility board and a 100% recyclable grocery tote.

I reviewed the Mediterranean Chicken dinner & it was yummmmmy! Next time I’ll remember not to put as much sauce in my meal, with any boxed dinner with a sauce you should make it to your liking (add sauce, taste, add sauce, taste, etc). But I can’t wait to try more of these Good Earth meals. They are 100% whole grain, no trans fat, no artificial flavors, no artificial preservatives, no MSG – just add meat and, BAM! Dinner is ready! I would say that this would feed a couple & a child if you don’t plan on having salad/bread/extras.

You can earn up to four entries to the giveaway by these various ways, each entry has to be on a separate comment.

BUT you will have to go on over to Pams site to read the details on how to enter and to see the picture she posted so go check it out now by clicking HERE, good luck if you decide to enter! :D

Back on track!

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

Hey everyone how have you all been!? I’ve been super busy taking care of my Mom, hence the brief hiatus. This chemo was a realllly tough one it had her in bed for about four days and it was just awful and completely unexpected because her last one wasn’t nearly as bad as this one was! I plan to get back on track with my 30 day challenge either tonight or some time this weekend depending on how my plans go haha I’m so disappointed in myself for taking a break from it but duty called and I had to do everything in my power to get Mom through that rough patch<3 I have been having lots of issues sleeping lately as well, Stress is getting the best of me and at night my mind just doesn’t want to turn off so I lay there for hours just thinking and eventually just have to get up and get online or watch TV or something of the sort to distract myself. For example I didn’t go to sleep last night until 8 o’clock this morning and I had to be up at 9:30 to get ready for a DR appointment.. So I’m running off an hour and a half of sleep and in slow motion haha Talked to my DR about it though and she agreed that it was stress causing this on top of my already known sleep problems so she gave me another prescription sleeping pill/anxiety pill to try out and here’s hoping I get a good nights sleep tonight! I’m going to go make everyone some lunch now so you’ll be hearing from me again within the next couple of days! :D

Oops..

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

I’ve been suuuuuuuper busy the last week or so but I promise to get back on track with my 30 day challenge on Tuesday because it’s the day I have to chill before Mom has chemo again on Wednesday. I wish she didn’t have it so soon again :( The month fell weird I guess so she had two treatments this month..She won’t have another again until the 21st so I guess that’s good..It just sucks because 4 days after her chemo is 4th of July and she loves to go out and do things that day but her bone pains are the worst on the 2-5 days after chemo because of those damn shots :| She still wants to go depending on how she feels but I don’t know.. Anyways, Rambling as usual haha Talk to you guys soon!

Day 9: A photo I took

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

I took these two pictures on my birthday, We (me and my Moms fiance Reg) were having a couple drinks and it was fun. In the second picture it’s so funny because they weren’t posing at all I just randomly snapped the pic when they were talking haha Didn’t it turn out awesome? :P Anyways here is my Mom and Reg with Harley and Zoe our babies (they weren’t cooperating), and then just my Mom and Reg. These were taken a couple days before my Mammas first chemo and before her hair started falling out/she had to cut it all off from the pain in her head :( <3

P.S. You can click them for the full versions haha

Day 8: A photo that makes me angry/sad

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

I refuse to post pictures of what makes me sad/angry because the thing that makes me so angry/sad is animal abuse and I can’t even look at pictures of that. I can’t fathom what would make someone hurt a defenseless animal and it pisses me off SO BAD. Animal fighting also pisses me off, Anyone who does either deserves to get whatever they did to the animal done to them. Anyways like I said, Not posting the pictures but if you wish go google animal cruelty and it will seriously hurt your heart and make you wish you hadn’t. What makes you angry/sad? This is the thing that came right off the top of my head when I read today’s subject.  :| :annoyed:

Day 7: A photo that makes you happy

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

Coincidentally enough this post is landing on a day that is really tough for me this year, Fathers Day. I lost my wonderful Dad on February 23, 2010 so that means in 3 days he will have been gone for 4 months exactly. God I miss him. I would do anything to give him a big hug and to hear him tell me “Angels be with you Baby, Goodnight” again.. That’s been our thing every since I was little, He would tell me Angels be with you and bless me every single night no matter what and I would do the same to him.. I still to this day say it every night. He was a very sick man and towards the end of his life he was in a lot of pain so in one sense I am happy he is in a better place and not suffering anymore but my God the pain that I feel every time I think about him and the way that I saw him pass away (I was there and it was a very harsh death and completely traumatic and I held his hand until his pulse stopped and even after, I still have nightmares.) is enough to take my breath away and feel like I’m being stabbed in the heart. I miss him like nobody would ever believe and I wouldn’t wish the pain that I feel on my worst enemy because it is THAT bad. Anyways, I’m not going to post just one picture. I’m going to post a few because it’s my blog and I can do what I want right ;) haha All of these make me happy..

RIP Daddy, I miss you so incredibly much. Happy Fathers Day<3

Day 6: Whatever tickles your fancy

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

Whatever tickles my fancy? Hmm.. I can’t really think of what to put for this post so I’ll just list a few things that I love. Reading is my number one,  I can spend hours in book stores and if I had the money I would spend all of it on books I just can’t get enough. It’s like I just get lost in whatever I’m reading and when I read it’s like there is a movie playing in my head, Does that makes sense? I think that’s why I like it so much. When I get my own house I want my office to have bookshelves on ALL the walls just filled with books.. Think of the library in Beauty and the Beast :P

But much smaller of course, Unless I win the lotto hahaha Another thing that fascinates me is the medical field. I love to excitement, the compassion you have to have for your patients, HELPING people (which is the best thing ever), and just the whole way that our bodies work. Eventually I will be an RN but for now I’m a CMA. Lastly (but not the last thing by far there is so much more but I have a migraine so I’m cutting this short) I love my family. Spending time with my Mom and the rest of my family makes me so happy that I feel a high of happiness when they all go home or I come home.. It’s a great feeling and I am so happy to have such a good and supportive  family.

Day 5: My favorite quote

Published by Cinda under Uncategorized

My favorite quote is:

“Be who you are and say what you feel
Because those who mind don’t matter
And those who matter don’t mind.”

Good ol Dr.Seuss huh? Haha I couldn’t agree with this quote more and it’s exactly how I feel :shy:
